What I Offer

Paul Byford is a BACP accredited Counsellor/ Psychotherapist who draws on his experience and knowledge to provide therapy in a safe, supportive and confidential manner in Guildford at Brighter Spaces.Paul believes the therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and the client to be key, built on trust so that a shared open alliance can form.

Carl Rogers (Psychologist 1902-1987) was one of the Founders of the client centred approach which came away from the thinking that the Therapist was the expert.

“This process of the good life is not, I’m convinced a life for the faint-hearted. It involves the stretching and growing of becoming more of one’s potentialities. It involves launching oneself fully into the stream of life” (Rogers 1961)

Mental health impacts one in four people in the Uk during the course of their lives and a therapeutic intervention can be very beneficial to those who suffer from:

Alcohol and drug misuse
Low self-esteem
Panic attacks/ phobias
Stress and health anxiety

Paul works with individuals and couples on either a short term or more open ended basis, with the aim of enabling clients to enhance their lives and to live it more fully.

Paul provides Counselling and Psychotherapy in Horsham and Guildford.
