About Me

My name is Liliana Scott.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I trained as a Speech and Language Therapists and worked in a stroke and trauma patient hospital with adults and children. I have also worked in other fields including educational projects for the deaf community, domestic violence, charity work for epilepsy and medical administration including the NHS. I have also worked closely with the Latin American community in London. I can conduct sessions in English and Spanish.

I provide services to clients that have experienced depression and anxiety due to bereavement, issues related to immigration, shame and guilt, feelings or emptiness and isolation, relationship problems, the impact of ill-health and existential issues. I can also see my clients via Skype or WhatsApp in the evening.

What I Offer

I have provided individual counselling sessions to a wide range of clients that have experienced depression and anxiety due to bereavement, issues related to immigration, shame and guilt, feelings or emptiness and isolation, relationship problems, the impact of ill-health and existential issues. I have experience working with NHS clients and I currently have my private practice at the Awareness Centre in South London and in Islington.

I provide an approachable, empathic and insightful counselling. As an integrative therapist I can draw on a wide range of psychotherapeutic approaches to tailor the therapy I offer to my clients according to their needs. I am very interested in understanding how life experiences can impact the client’s behaviours, thoughts, feelings and decision making and the implications of the client’s family system, current context, culture, race and the environment in their lives. I also believe that the counsellor/client relationship is a creative partnership where both work together to find a balance between guiding and facilitating self-discovery. For me, counselling is a journey that is unique to every person. I seek to provide not only a space for helping my clients to relieve distressing symptoms safely, but also to enable them to promote personal growth and a more balanced life.
