About Me

Dr Bujarbaruah is a highly qualified, kind and compassionate Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Dr Bujarbaruah currently works in the NHS as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist within the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust and privately in Guildford, Surrey.

Dr Bujarbaruah has a strong passion for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and finds it an extremely captivating and rewarding specialty.

Dr Bujarbaruah completed her core training in Psychiatry from Oxford under the Oxford Training Programme and then went on to further undertake Higher Specialist Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from London under the St. George’s and South West London Training Programme. Completing her extensive training from these highly regarded training schemes formed the pillars of her holistic approach to client centred care and her approach to the mental health and emotional well being of the young people and their families.

Dr Bujarbaruah is enthusiastic, caring and compassionate and her excellent interpersonal skills and empathic nature assist in rapport-building and helps to build a solid trusting therapeutic relationship with children, young people and their families/carers and with her multidisciplinary team.

Dr Bujarbaruah was awarded Membership of The Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2011. She is on the General Medical Council Specialist Register as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.

Dr Bujarbaruah has a wide experience in teaching and management. She has broad experience in teaching different groups of professionals and multiple learning objectives. She has taught psychiatry trainees in the MRCPsych course in South West London and St George’s NHS Trust.

She has organised and facilitated various Communications Skills workshops for Trainees in Psychiatry in the Oxford Training Programme and actively facilitated the CASC workshops as part of the MRCPsych Examination Course in St. George’s and South West London NHS Trust with excellent feedback. Dr Bujarbaruah is a clinical supervisor of trainees and also remain actively involved in regular medical student teaching.

Dr Bujarbaruah uses evidence-based approach to treatment and recovery that really matters to the young person and their family, so that all involved are equally informed.

Dr Bujarbaruah is fluent in English [primary language], Hindi, Bengali and Assamese.

Referral process

Clients can self refer or can seek referral from their GP, school, or other healthcare professionals. Dr Bujarbaruah will assess each referral individually.

The initial assessment appointment is usually approximately ninety minutes. You will receive an outcome/clinical letter following your appointment.

Payment should be made on the day of your appointment. Cash, cheque, and bank transfer are accepted.
There is no additional fee if a prescription is issued within your appointment.

Dr Bujarbaruah accepts self funding patients. She is also registered with healthcare insurer providers – Vitality Health and Aviva. Please note: If you are covered by an alternative insurer, your appointments will require self-funding and may be reclaimed from your health insurer.

On requesting an appointment, Dr Bujarbaruah may need to call you to confirm details before you meet. This initial telephone discussion of up to 10 minutes is free of charge, and is designed to confirm that it is indeed appropriate to proceed to a full consultation and is not designed to replace a consultation.
