About Me

I am a Consultant grade Clinical Psychologist, trained in the specialist assessment and treatment of a range of psychological difficulties, including low mood and anxiety disorders in the general population. I am a highly skilled CBT therapist, with additional specialist training in trauma focused CBT (TF-CBT) for trauma. I also have training in ACT, CFT and narrative therapy. I provide structured interventions and work collaboratively with clients to achieve their goals. I work 1:1 with adults and young people and also provide couple and family therapy.

I have specialist experience and expertise in Clinical Neuropsychology and specialise in working with clients with conditions and injuries of the brain and spinal cord, providing expert assessment, psychological support and rehabilitation programmes for changes in behaviour, thinking skills and personality.

What I Offer

Areas of specialisation

  • General Mental Health Psychological Services
I provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of a range of psychological difficulties such as depression, GAD, PTSD, OCD, panic, phobia, body issues, low self-esteem, relationship issues, anger and so on. I provide evidence-based NICE recommended structured interventions primarily using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I tailor therapy to the goals of clients; some want a purely practical approach with management strategies, others want to also consider aspects of the past and the influence of this on the difficulty, and some clients prefer a mixture of both.
  • Neuropsychology Services
I am a specialist in applying psychological therapies such as CBT in clients with neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, including MS, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, stroke, brain injury and so on. This means that I am highly trained to understand these conditions and support clients with adjustment and emotional changes, and tailor therapy to meet the unique needs of clients with speech or cognitive difficulties, for example.
  • I am also expertly trained to conduct neuropsychological assessments. This involves administering a series of gold standard tests that assess different areas of the brain. This allows us to understand areas of strengths and weakness in terms of thinking skills, including memory, attention and planning abilities. I then work with clients and families to tailor scientifically informed rehabilitation programmes to help clients recover and compensate for changes in their thinking skills.
  • I am the Founder and Clinical Director of the Sports Neuropsychology Clinic, where I work with athletes from all sports, primarily boxing and rugby, to assess brain functioning and provide advice and rehabilitation around maintaining good brain health. I implement cognitive rehabilitation programmes and provide gold standard psychological therapies to athletes. I have a specialist interest in working with boxing professionals, to support them in improving safeguarding around the risk of brain injury and long-term conditions such as dementia.
